As many of you may already know Christianity and Judaism are somewhat similar. Even though they still share many differences among religious believes and traditions.
As many of you have been asking: Do Jews believe more in God or Jews? Were do they stand? Well to be honest I was also a bit confused with this question. So I decided to ask for help to Ms. Vernon.
Here is her respond: Jews always believed that someone from their race would be brought to this world to become their leader and later lead them to a path of glory or a better future. Thousands of years passed and Jews waited patiently for that day. One day Jesus arose to this world. When this occurred Jews were separated into their believes. Some believed that Jesus was that leader they have been waiting for. While, others believe he wasn’t.
(Just thought I shared it with you my fellow classmates because it was a very interesting aspect)
Christianity is the believe of God and Jesus being superior and the savor’s of this world.
Judaism is the believe of God and Jesus. The difference is that Jews are known to accept and worship more God than Jesus due to the different believes of specific Jews.
The all-important difference between Christianity and Judaism is the Person of Jesus Christ. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the Old Testament while Jews believe that God was. The Person and work of Jesus Christ is the one primary issue that Christianity and Judaism cannot agree upon due to the different believes and aspects of different eras.
Christianity and Judaism both share a rhetorical strategy known as pathos. Both religions share the idea and believe of the “Old Testament”. The Old Testament provides information of the being and development of this world. It also discusses the sacrifices of both Jesus and God.
Christianity is known to have a stronger believe in the Bible which its main focus is in Jesus and his sacrifices for everyone in this world. Judaism believe more in “The Torah” which main focus is in God and his contribution to this world.
Well I hope I answered all of your thoughts of how rhetoric falls in place in both Christianity and Judaism.

Jennifer,
what made you decide to write about the similarities between Jews' beliefs and Christianity? havce people commented on this and that is why you decided to compare them? well i learned something new because i had my doubts about what jewish people believed in?
i guess that this is why we have blogs. i am not going to get into that subject because i just don't want to write a lot because i am lazy and i got other blogs to comment on.
Woah.
Wise decision in the topic. Judaism and Christianity. I do believe that Catholicism and Christianity have more similarities.
Your blog topic truly demonstrated ethos. You actually got down to it and asked a person who might know more on the topic when you did not. That was way better than you making things up on the spot.
I like it. It was interesting and well elaborated.
Jennifer,
Nice job in showing us a part of culture and applying rhetoric to it.
In your blog I saw how you too used the rhetoric strategy of Ethos. By asking Ms. Vernon you added more sources which increased your credibility.
I would have never thought that these two religions were similar in a way. I can now see how these two religions could be similar.

Hey there,
Very interesting. It is true that Jews and Christians are related in many ways. I like the fact that you asked someone for help instead of making things that do not necessarily go hand to hand.
Just to reinforce the bond between the Christians and Jews, let me mention that the only thing that makes the Jewish religion different than Christianity is the belief of Jesus Christ as a savior. What this means they do not look at Jesus like a God, but rather a well respected prophet. Christians however believe that Jesus is the son of God and that his death in the cross is the ultimate salvation. If is true that their day of worship is different from Christianity, but if it wasn't from Constantine many Christians would also be worshiping the Sabbath not in Sunday mornings.
Nevertheless, great job Jennifer for posting an interesting blog and i hope that the next would be even better.
Oh before I forget The Torah is the first five books in the Christian Bible (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy), but now is actually referred to the entire Jewish bible. The Torah is just the same as the Old Testament. Another thing i want to say, if you think that Christianity and Catholicism have lots in common, well you are wrong. As a matter a fact Christianity and the Jewish religion have lots in common from the words of wisdom to the Holy Sanctuary. The Jewish culture an the Christians have lots in common and the only thing that separates them is the belief in Jesus.
If anyone is interested I can be a great help.
Awesome,
So you decided to actually compare both Christianity and Judaism. Wow that must be really hard to research about both religions. Ok you asked me three things and i would be glad to respond to them. 1. These "cool words" are from various things that I read, see, are giving to me for homework like the SAT packet that was given to us, or from a conversation that i might of heard from. 2. These "cool words" are both highly sophisticated words and also just common words that we hear every day. 3. Well the last question is a tough cookie to crumble... I wouldn't be able to tell you how accurate the sources are but I think that getting definitions from Merriam Webster might be more reliable than getting slang definitions from Urban Dictionary.
It is true what other bloggers have said about your blog is very true. Your blog has more credibility by asking from a person who knows more than what know rather than making up things on the spot like other people said. Maybe i should start asking from Ms. Vernon so my blog looks alot more reliable than what it is? Not to sound ignorant or anything but I never knew that jewish people also believed in Jesus Christ. But yeah anyways great job because now i learned both how Christianity and Judaism are related and how both work out. Great job and next blog can you please do Catholicism. Great Job
Ok, make that two: Joel said, "Another thing i want to say, if you think that Christianity and Catholicism have lots in common, well you are wrong."
I have to disagree. As a historian trained in the history of Western Civilization, I can tell you, for certain, that Catholicism is, in fact, a type of Christianity. If Christianity is a big circle on the whiteboard, Catholicism is a smaller circle inside of it.
Deat Jenny.
From reding your blog I learned about Jewish religion and who they believe in. What sources did you use to gather this information? I didn't know that Christianity and Jewish beliefs have some similarities. Is Roman Catholic similar to Jewish believes? I just wanted to know what the thing on Jewish peoples' head mean? Don't you sometimes get confused when you speak about different religions? What other things are there in culture that have rhetoric?
